An Open Letter to Asaduddin Oweisi on "Bharat Mata Ki Jai"

Dear Mr. Oweisi,
My this letter to you is in reaction to your response to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that “The new generation of Indians should be taught to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ as part of all-round development of the youth”. Responding to Bhagwat you said that “nowhere in the Constitution it says that one should chant Bharat Mata ki Jai” and as such you refused to do so.
Great Mr.Oweisi, I appreciate your quoting the constitution of our country and willingness to go by it literally. But would you now do two small favours to this nation by abiding by the same constitution that you quote so conveniently :-
1. The Article 44 of the Indian Constitution says that, the state shall endeavour to enact a Uniform Civil Code for citizens throughout the country. The civil code, when enacted will deal with the personal laws of all religious communities relating to marriage, divorce, adoption, custody of children inheritance, succession to property etc. which are all secular in character of Indian state and to enhance fraternity of unity among citizens by providing them with a set of personal laws which incorporates the basic values of humanism. So now you are duty bound to demand, participate and abide by a Uniform Civil Code.
2. The Indian Constitution during its incorporation said that the song Vande Mataram, which had played a historic part in the struggle for Indian freedom, should be honoured equally with Jana Gana Mana and should have equal status with it. Now, you are duty bound by the constitution to sing Vande Mataram as and when it is played. So, would you abide by the same?

If you believe and abide so much by our constitution then why not raise the above issues and demand those to be implemented strictly? But no, you want the constitution to be a slave of your religious beliefs. Hence you quote it, whenever it favours you and raise hue & cry citing your religious beliefs whenever it goes against you. This country is well aware of your this convenient and sporadic, fake trust on India’s constitution. The history of your family and your party MIM (Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) in itself proves how obedient you are towards India’s constitution and how nationalist you are. You are the descendent, inheritor and ideological flag bearer of the barbaric anti-India Razakars who fought against this nation after our independence in 1948 to retain the feudal Nizam’s rule of Hyderabad or merge it with Pakistan by killing Hindus and nationalist Indians who supported the merger of Hyderabad in the Indian Union. The then head of MIM, Qasim Rizvi, was also the head of those Razakars and after he had to leave for Pakistan, it was your grandfather Abdul Wahed Owaisi, who headed those notorious Islamic zealots by becoming the head of MIM. Your grandfather’s only name to fame apart from adding “All India” infront of MIM is that he was arrested under the Preventive Detention Act, 1950 and his “political activities” included rousing communal passions and creating resentment and hatred in the minds of the Muslims of Hyderabad against Hindus and the Indian State.
“Bharat Mata Ki Jai” was neither coined by RSS nor has any religious connotations. Bharat Mata ki Jai only means Victory to Mother India or Glory to India. It does not say that you worship Mother India. When we say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', we only show our gratitude to the land which has given us 'Life' like our mother. It just portrays values of humanity like gratitude, love and allegiance towards our own nation where we are fortunate to take birth. It is surprising as to why you, who grew up breathing air in this land, eating food grown on it and thrived under its protective umbrella should refuse to be thankful to that “motherland”. We should be grateful to our “Motherland” for she has provided sustenance to all of us, whether deserving or not and praising her for such generosity can’t be against anyone’s religious belief.
But no, how can you thank and praise “Mother India” as your “vision, mission and core value” are based on hate towards other religions and culture, especially Hinduism and a non-Islamic state – India - of majority Hindu population. Since India’s independence, your party and family are working in India as the “agents of Pakistan”, whose only ambition is to rule over the majority non Islamic population in India to bring back “Dar-ul-Islam” and also convert it into an Islamic state to complete the unfinished agenda of the Islamic invaders. This country has seen the abuses of Hindu Gods, customs and rituals by your brother Akabaruddin Oweisi in public meetings and his famous threat to kill 100 crore Hindus by 25 crores Muslims, if the police gives them a free hand for just 15 mins.
You said that you are a “Nationalist” and that one can be a nationalist even without saying “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. But the words “Nationalism and Nationalist” are derived from the word “Nation”. Nationalism is loyalty and devotion to one’s nation. And a nationalist believes the nation as an inclusive categorisation of all human beings within a geographic boundary, who feels proud to be part of that national identity, culture and values, admires the national heroes from its history, feels proud under the national flag and symbol, sings the national song, takes pride in national mythology, literature, folklore, history and achievements. In fact, nationalism identifies most human activity as a reflection of one’s national character. But your loyalty lies first not with your nation but with your religion. You will only do for the nation what your religion permits and not the other way. Nationalism provides a sense of belonging that arises from the deep bottom of one’s heart. It needs to be cultivated to create a common national identity through a true commitment to a national unity. But for you, a strange sense of “Islamic Nationalism” drives your ambitions and desires. Therefore, although you are born in India but still don’t consider yourself belonging to “Indian Civilization & Culture”, rather you belong to “Arab Culture”. You have no appreciation for the ancient Indian civilization and cultural heritage founded on Vedic tradition. You are a poor imitation of the Arabian Invaders. You still believe in heart of heart that Muslims should have ruled India after the departure of the British. Population growth helped Muslims to annex a large part of India for creating a separate Islamic State of Pakistan. And your energy and effort are directed to gradually convert the rest of India into “Dar-ul-Islam”. You still believe in the cultural superiority of Muslims over the Hindus and that Muslims should always rule over majority Hindus. And hence, are so obsessed with the loss of your prior, inequitable privileges that you hardly seem to be in a mood to be content with the mere rights of equal citizenship with the Hindu majority India.
Mr. Owaisi, your party and politics is grossly communal, based on and for the members of just one religion to keep them segregated within our “Nation” to misled them into believing that they are a separate race, with a separate civilization, culture and identity. Else can you tell us, what is your political contribution to people of this country and its unification, irrespective of any religion, caste or creed? Don't make false rhetoric as if you are a born nationalist and patriotic saint, who lives and works for all Indians. At least now, realise your religious bigotry and stop sermoning on Nationalism. It is high time you learn to live in amity with people of all other religions in this country and respect the culture, customs and civilizational attributes of this “Nation” called in various times of history as “Bharat”, “Hindustan” or “India”. Your relentless tirade, threat, insult towards the majority community and their feelings/beliefs are proof enough of your real character. Mohan Bhagawat or RSS are just an excuse for refusing to chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. By selectively quoting Tagore you can’t misled people. In the last sentence of the same poem Tagore glorifies the ‘living words that have issued from the illuminated consciousness of her great sons….’. I wonder what you appreciate and love about our this great nation, if not its glorious civilizational history and culture, which was native to it and not imported by the invaders.
The indigenous civilization and culture of our Nation has taught us for centuries that “Janani Janma-bhoomischa Swargadapi Gareeyasi”, meaning “the Mother and the Motherland are superior to even paradise”. And hence, a true Nationalist Indian irrespective of religion, caste or creed, who admires our great civilization and its culture will repeatedly chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” with pride.
India’s Faithfully,
A Nationalist Indian
